The ultimate aim for the 10k project is to use the flow of images to create an immersive experience, bringing the viewer/listener to an altered state. An environmental installation, with wrap-around sound and vision is the ultimate aim – but there are many other ways to work with the material, from animated backdrops/stage setting for performances (dance and musical), through interactive meditation sessions where the user sets the tempo and visual journey based on their own preferences, to more conventional filmatic narrative structures. The superwide format creates display challenges – digital cinemascope, but hardly cinema material – but the wideness sets up another dynamic effect in the periphery of the visual area of perception.
